Cheap Fuel Radar helps you find the cheapest nearby fuel station. This page explains exactly what data it handles.
Cheap Fuel Radar uses your device's precise location, with your permission, to center the map on your position and to calculate which stations are nearby. This location data is used entirely on your device. It is never sent to DFB Software's servers or to any third party, and it is not linked to your identity or used for tracking.
Cheap Fuel Radar has no account system and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address, or any other personal detail.
Your favorite stations, price-alert thresholds, hidden stations, discounts and settings are stored in the app's local storage on your device and, because the app uses Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store, are synced via iCloud between your own devices.
If — and only if — you turn on a price alert, some of that has to reach our server, because the alert is decided there rather than on your phone. That is what lets it arrive when the app is closed. In that case the app sends and we store, for your device:
That record is not connected to any account or identity, because there is none — it identifies a device, not a person. We delete it when Apple tells us the app has been removed, and you can remove it yourself at any time by turning price alerts off.
If you never turn on a price alert, none of this is ever sent and no record is created.
To show current fuel prices, Cheap Fuel Radar fetches the public station and price list from DFB Software's own backend service. These requests never include your location. The app downloads the full current price list for the whole country and does all nearby-station filtering and ranking on your device, so our server is never told where you are or which stations you looked at.
So that the service can only be used by genuine copies of the app, each request is signed using Apple's App Attest. That signature carries a key identifier belonging to your installation. It proves the app is real; it says nothing about you, and it is not used to build any profile.
Cheap Fuel Radar can optionally notify you when a favorite station's price drops below a threshold you set, or hits a new seven-day low. This requires your explicit permission via Apple's standard system notification prompt, which only appears if you turn the feature on; you can withdraw permission at any time in iOS Settings.
These notifications are sent from our server, which is why arming one shares the details listed under “Data we collect” above. Turning the feature off removes them again.
Cheap Fuel Radar contains no third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking of any kind. We don't use the App Tracking Transparency framework because we don't track you.
Cheap Fuel Radar offers an optional one-time premium unlock ("Cheap Fuel Radar Premium") and optional tips, all processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Payment details are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. DFB Software never sees or stores your payment information.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@dfbsoftware.dk.
